North Malé Atoll
North Malé Atoll is where Maldives tourism began, and its proximity to the airport is its defining practical advantage: most islands are a 20–50 minute speedboat ride, which means no seaplane timing constraints and no overnight in Malé when a flight lands late. The atoll has a dense mix of long-established resorts and local-island guesthouses.
